PRELUDE
One-Third of humanity lives in countries where water is scarce and 1 billion people have no access to clean drinking water. Approximately 777 million people in developing countries do not have access to enough food while 13% of world population remains undernourished. Most of them are living in rural areas of developing countries. Therefore it is an imperative for the governments to act in the decade 2005-2015 which is proclaimed as international decade for action by United Nations to achieve the millennium development goals.
